We are a Pub

Right, let’s get down to business. Our business. Which is alcohol plus  serving good pub food. We also do entertainment, but what we really, really love to do is get you a bit tipsy. Or a lot tipsy, depending on your preference. Whatever your chosen poison, we are sure to be able to cater to your tastes, whether it be ales, spirits or the juice of the vine.

Real Ale

Real ale is a particular passion of ours and we make a point of only buying from breweries and micro-breweries in Devon and Cornwall, firmly believing that ale doesn’t travel well. We regularly have guest ales alongside much loved staples ; favouring refreshing and hoppy pale ales in Summer and comforting dark ales in deepest, coldest winter. As proof of our passion, some of the guest ales that we’ve had have passed through our pumps before being sold anywhere else.

October Beer Festival

If you, like us, love your ale, our October beer festivals are well worth a visit, often with custom brews that you won’t find anywhere else, with this year’s promising to be our biggest and best yet. In the meantime, why not pop in and see what we have on draught this week?

Apothecary’s Workshop

We carry a wide range of spirits, from the basics like Smirnoff right through to speciality rums and whiskies. With all of the various bottle shapes and colours, behind our bar looks like a veritable apothecary’s workshop, so be adventurous: pick something you’ve never tried before and leave ‘the usual’ for another night.

Off the Vine

We believe that no meal is truly complete without a glass of wine, and we work closely with local suppliers and wine experts, to ensure that we are always able to offer the best wines to complement our seasonal menus. Naturally, we also offer a few bubbles for those extra special occasions, like birthdays, anniversaries, promotions… or Fridays.

We also serve soft drinks if you like that sort of thing.
